Independence Day Celebration

Hudson’s Independence Day Celebration

Thank you to all for making this event a success!

This family friendly event is supported by public donations and we could not have done it without your generous contributions.

Hudson’s Expanded Independence Day Celebration took place July 2, 2016 at Case Barlow Farm Park.

The event began at 5 p.m. with plenty of daytime activities for families to partake in leading up to the fireworks. The activities included face painters, caricature drawings, balloon artist and chalk artists. Food and beverages were on site throughout the day. Families enjoyed a bite to eat while participating in the activities.

As visitors exited the shuttle bus and entered the park they were greeted by 400 American Flags thanks to The Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism.

The performances kicked off with Western Reserve Community Band, later in evening was the Hudson Chorus followed by Funkology a 10 piece band playing hits from the 1960's through today.    During the intermission, a reading of the Declaration of Independence by Patrick Henry portrayed by Neil Thackaberry. Drew Forhan & Don Tharp of The Hudson Community Foundation  and City of Hudson Councilman David Basil spoke.

Reserved seating was available for a donation, with all proceeds donated to the Fireworks Endowment Fund.  Free seating was available on the soccer fields for the best viewings of the fireworks.

The evening ended with a fantastic fireworks display over the park.
